In Ananda Madhumaya…
-
We salute the essence that inhabits the physical body. We express our love with respect and treat others as if they were our own brothers and sisters.
-
We maintain an attitude of service. We all contribute to the same collective experience in an exchange of joy, energy, and knowledge.
-
We are considerate of those who come after us. We conserve water when we bathe, we wash the dishes we use, and we return objects that have served us to their proper place.
-
We maintain a subtle diet. We don’t consume or introduce meat, eggs, fish, garlic, onions, mushrooms, alcohol, cigarettes, or recreational drugs.
-
We avoid distracting our minds from the physical plane. We dress modestly, avoiding showing our chest, shoulders, stomach, or cleavage. We wear pants or skirts below the knee and, whenever possible, avoid wearing makeup.
-
We are considerate of the most sensitive and those who practice breathing techniques. We refrain from using lotions or perfumes with strong or extravagant scents.
-
We respect the concentration and ideas of others. We do our best not to raise our voices or laugh too loudly. We remain silent during meditation times.
-
We respect the sleep of others. We avoid making any noise after 10:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m.
We ask our visitors to help us follow these guidelines so we can preserve the atmosphere and vibration of this spiritual place.
With immense gratitude,
Acaryas and volunteers of Ananda Madhumaya
