” The place offers a magical combination of peace and vital energy. Nothing better for the healing that my mind and body needed. “
Cassandra, attendee of the Yoga & Detox program (2022).
Ananda Madhumaya is a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful gardens and breathtaking landscapes typical of the temperate region in the south-central part of the country. Ananda means “bliss” in Sanskrit, and Madhumaya means “illusion of sweetness.”
Nine years after the project began, Ananda Madhumaya has served as a Yoga and Meditation retreat center, as well as cooking, art, social transformation and alternative health programs, and has comfortably hosted groups of 10 to 40 people .
Where are we ?
The Ananda Madhumaya Center is located in Xochicalco, Morelos, Mexico.
With a favorable climate, surrounded by natural landscapes and small bodies of water, Xochicalco is a small town whose name means “in the place of the house of flowers” and is well known for its beautiful pre-Columbian pyramids dating back to 700 AD .
In the surroundings…
Be amazed by the region’s natural and cultural wonders. Just an hour away, you can reach the magical towns of Tepoztlán and Malinalco, the Cacahuamilpa Caves, and the Las Estacas and Mil Cascadas natural parks.

About the Ananda Madhumaya project
Ananda Madhumaya is managed by Ananda Marga , a non-profit organization whose mission is self-realization and service to the universe.
The project began in 2014 with a small plot of land containing a large hall (a pottery studio) and a house on top. It had been abandoned for several years. Since then, the team has worked hard on renovations, acquiring nearby properties, construction, and landscaping to create a beautiful setting in harmony with nature.
Although still a work in progress, Ananda Madhumaya already serves as a home for full-time volunteers who strive to make it sustainable and self-sufficient. The events, experiences, and social service programs offered are all integral to this vision.
